BLOR BC ORIGINS

The Bells Line of Road Business Council (BLOR BC) formed during early 2022 in lobbying state government on Agri-tourism updates relating to Pick Your Own regulations. This was the first time business community leaders had joined together to form a Think Tank and action group specifically for the Bells Line of Road region. Prior to this formation, Businesses and residents West of the Hawkesbury in the Bell’s Line of Road region had felt largely ignored, neglected and poorly led in the last 5 years. It is the role of the BLORBC to create and grow a prosperous and healthy business community whilst improving relationships and collaboration with all levels of government.

BLOR BC VISION

BLOR BC are the leading voice for the Bell’s Line business community. Our vision is to build a thriving and diverse regional corridor to live, work & enjoy for both visitors and residents alike. Our role is to actively collaborate with a range of local community, businesses, business groups, organisations and political leaders at all levels of government to realise our vision & purpose. Our purpose being to improve and evolve channels between networks of local businesses and all levels of government in order to collaboratively develop and implement strategic planning that encourages economic stimulus along the iconic Bells’ Line corridor.

OUR STARTEGY

With of visitors number the hundreds of thousands each year, we are already well-positioned to benefit from large tourism oriented investments nearby like the $50m Gardens of Stone Eco Tourism development in Lithgow and the Western Sydney airport. Our strategy is focussed on identifying and quantifying both in-depth visitor data and an accurate landscape of the businesses that comprise the entire Bells Line Region—60km of road and three LGAs. This information will enable us to lobby funding and tourism initiatives, infrastructure and investments to grow the economy for businesses, visitors and residents, together. Our ongoing goals are listed below. Current activities such as our Destination Tourism Campaign and our Federal Funding Findings Survey Report are available in our Media centre. Our membership includes business advocacy and support, a directory listing, a mini-site with SEO and campaign strategy as well as BLOR BC networking events and opportunities.

OUR GOALS 

Advocate for economic development for the area that improves the quality of life for those living in the region and its environment. Develop & implement strategic plans on such matters of interest. Establish formal networks of business community consultation. Mentor businesses to collaborate with government. Lobby policy & investment of material benefit to the region and promote our vision across broad-reaching audience. Establish a network that paints an accurate picture of the diverse and vibrant landscape of business within the region. Attract and maintain visitors to the region for long term sustainable tourism economy

The BLORBC is an NFP business organisation with the common goal to support local businesses and their local economy in the Bells Line of Road region.
